Corsica

Corsica is a land of heat, stone and resilience. Under the summer sun, natural rock formations, dry mountain slopes and hardy Mediterranean vegetation define the island’s raw character. The glowing cliffs of Calanche rise dramatically above the sea near Porto, where coastal roads and viewpoints reveal some of Corsica’s most iconic landscapes. Nearby, the waters of the Scandola (Spelunca) marine reserve cut between volcanic rock walls, offering a striking perspective from both land and sea.  From the sunset-lit headlands of Capo Rosso to the historic towns of Ajaccio, Porto and Bonifacio, Corsica balances untamed nature with human presence. Bonifacio’s densely built, inhabited cliff-top peninsula, the sea-facing Mariners’ Cemetery and the Aragon Stairway descending toward the water combine to form one of Corsica’s most memorable coastal scenes. Inland, the Restonica Valley unfolds more quietly, with mountain rivers, stone bridges and rugged terrain reflecting an island shaped by heat, time and endurance.
